Dear Dharma Friends,
Postponement of the Second European Sakya Monlam
In view of the current circumstances in France and Europe and the world, and on the advice of the Sakya Dolma Phodrang and the Great Sakya Monlam Foundation in Dehradun, we regretfully announce that the European Sakya Monlam which was due to take place on 31 July 2020 to 2 August 2020 in Paris, France, will now be postponed to a later date.
His Holiness Sakya Gongma Trichen explained in his message on 12 March that in the current circumstances, where we may be experiencing fear and anxiety, it is most important for us to pray to the Guru and the Triple Gem, and that we must have a kind heart: “Just like we do not wish to suffer, all sentient beings as vast as space also do not wish to suffer. Through this understanding, if one can generate loving kindness and wishing the suffering of all sentient beings to be pacified swiftly, then all our undesired suffering will also be pacified naturally.”
It is our wish that everyone who had planned to attend the Second European Sakya Monlam will still be able to practise in this way, through study and practice of the teachings of the Buddha.
We wish to thank the generous efforts and financial support of everyone who has already contributed time and resources towards the Second European Sakya Monlam. We look forward to announcing a date for the Second European Sakya Monlam in due course.

众所周知，以萨迦大金刚持法王为主座的欧洲吉祥萨迦第二届世界和平祈愿大法会，原定於2020年7月31日至八月2日在法国巴黎举行的通知一发出，有许多信徒把自己的假期安排在法会期间等参加法会的个人与团体做了许多准备。目前由于新型冠状病毒的侵袭，世界各地或者是欧洲不少地方正处于紧急状态的危机之中。这种状况究竟是否还会持续较长时间也无法估计，因此，萨迦祈愿法会常务会研究决定：原定於2020年将在法国举办的欧洲吉祥萨迦第二届世界和平祈愿大法会延期至来年。特此通知，望诸信徒谅解！。
